Privacy Policy
Last updated 29 August 2026
Short version: the application does not collect anything. Your manuscripts and artwork never leave your computer. There is no account, no sign-in and no telemetry. This page explains the detail, including the website, which is different.
1. The application
Pagequire is a desktop application that runs entirely on your machine.
- Your files stay local. Artwork, manuscripts, book projects and exported PDFs are read from and written to your own disk. They are never uploaded.
- No account. There is nothing to register for.
- No analytics or telemetry. The application contains no analytics, crash reporting or usage tracking.
- License checks are offline. Your license key is verified on your own machine using a cryptographic signature. No activation server is contacted and we are not told when or how often you use the software.
- Update checks. When Pagequire starts, it asks our update host whether a newer version exists. That host is currently GitHub Releases. Like any download, the request reveals your IP address and the version you are running to that host. It carries no identifier of you and is not linked to your license. Nothing is downloaded and nothing is installed unless you agree to it in a dialog. If you would rather the application never made this request, block it in your firewall; everything else in Pagequire works offline.
- Links you click. The application shows links to printer documentation. Following one opens your browser and is a visit to that company's site, governed by their privacy policy.
2. This website
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention. See Cloudflare's privacy documentation for detail.
There is no analytics on this site and no advertising or tracking cookies.
3. Buying
Checkout is handled by Paddle.com Market Limited, which is the Merchant of Record and an independent controller of the data it collects. When you buy, Paddle collects your name, email address, billing country and payment details in order to take payment and meet tax obligations.
We never see or store your full payment card details. We receive your email address and name so we can issue and support your license. Paddle's own privacy policy governs their processing.
Paddle sets cookies necessary for checkout to function.
4. Email
Mail to [email protected] is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to a mailbox we control, so that message and your address pass through Cloudflare and our mail provider. We keep support correspondence only as long as needed to help you and to keep a record of the issue.
5. What we hold, and for how long
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Name and email from purchase | Issue your license, support you | While your license is valid, plus as long as tax law requires |
| License key records | Reissue a lost key, prevent abuse | Same |
| Support email | Answer your question | Up to 24 months |
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to processing, and to complain to a data protection authority. This includes rights under the UK and EU GDPR and, for California residents, the CCPA/CPRA. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within the period the law allows.
Note that a deletion request may end our ability to support or reissue your license.
7. Children
Pagequire is a professional tool sold to adults. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. International transfers
Our service providers, including Paddle and Cloudflare, may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards their own terms describe.
9. Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page.
10. Who we are, and how to reach us
Pagequire is operated as a sole proprietorship in California, United States. The proprietor is the data controller for the limited processing described above, and their full legal name and a postal address are available on request to any individual exercising their data protection rights, or to any regulator.
Email [email protected]. This is a business run by one person and operated entirely online, so email is the contact method for every purpose, including privacy rights requests. Under the CCPA regulations, a business that operates exclusively online and has a direct relationship with the consumer may designate an email address for such requests.
If you have a legal or regulatory need for a postal address, ask by email and we will provide one. It is not published here for the personal safety of a household, not to be difficult to reach.
